About ME Communication Systems

The department of ECE offers Post Graduate programme Master of Engineering in Communication Systems which is started in the year 2012 with a sanctioned intake of 18 Students. It is a two year programme which gives a sound establishment to individuals who are wishing to seek a career in the context of real applications. The program has an exclusive well-equipped Advanced Communication lab with state-of-the-art facilities, MATLAB and computing facilities that is available to student to use during regular and beyond regular course schedule. Students have access to well-equipped library with quality textbooks & reference books, and e-journals including.

For quality world-class education to be delivered successfully, it is absolutely essential that the efforts of the Faculty and students be backed up by proper infrastructure. No stone has been left unturned in the quest to provide infrastructure and facilities that are of the highest standards and comparable with the best anywhere. Improvement and up gradation of the infrastructure is continues ongoing process in the department. The strength of any educational program can be measured by the quality of its Faculty. In the department all the faculty members are highly qualified, competent and handpicked for their long teaching, industrial and research experience.

The programme also prepares the student to excel in theoretical skills, practical and design experience in the area of RF and Wireless Communications, Communication, Signal Processing, RF Circuit Design which paves the way for research activities.

Advanced Communication System Design Lab

Advanced Communication System ( ACS ) Laboratory covers design and verification of the concepts of modern communication systems that operates in MHz-THz range. The main focus of the Advanced Communication System (ACS) Laboratory is to design next-generation wireless technologies and mobile computing systems. This lab is equipped with oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Modules for Digital Modulation and Demodulation techniques and power supply units. To enhance precise measurement and observe waveform with better clarity Digital Storage Oscilloscopes are used. The Microwave test benches are used to conduct experiments in GHz frequency range. Various digital coding and modulation kits are used apart from discrete components to demonstrate the basic concepts involved in digital communication. In particular, ACS Laboratory conducts research in the broad area of communication theory, wireless communications and networks, with focus on the physical layer and optical communication systems – Optical fiber based and integrated photonic waveguides based.

This lab provides a platform to the students to study, design, simulate and analyze RF Circuits and RF antennas. The Lab is equipped with the following equipment’s.

RF Systems Design Lab

RF Systems Design lab is equipped with high frequency instruments and tools to explore the RF and electromagnetics field. The tools helps the students to design, validate and test the high frequency systems design for advanced communication techniques.
